On August 9th, Jinan Tongzhen Parent Child Club went to Generation Ocean to carry out seaweed themed research and learning activities. They visited the Generation Ocean Brown Seaweed Science and Culture Museum, 15000 acres of seaweed breeding base, brown seaweed enzymatic hydrolysis production base, and crop bioassay experimental center, and tasted the authentic Kunbu Banquet.
At the Brown Algae and Seaweed Science and Culture Museum of Generation Ocean, the guide presented the development process of Generation Ocean through illustrated display boards and scene demonstrations. From tracing the historical and cultural origins of kelp, to analyzing its rich nutritional and medicinal value, as well as its extensive applications in food, health products, industry, and other fields, the comprehensive science popularization knowledge is eye opening.
At the 15000 acre kelp farming base of Generation Ocean, staff explained to everyone the nutritional value and application knowledge of dragon beard vegetable. The children personally experienced the picking activity of dragon beard vegetables and unlocked the fun of ocean farming with laughter and joy.
At the brown seaweed enzymatic hydrolysis production base, the staff provided a detailed introduction to the biological method of fresh seaweed crushing and low-temperature enzymatic hydrolysis, showcasing the production process of brown seaweed organic water-soluble fertilizer. Fresh seaweed is crushed and transported through sealed pipelines to low-temperature enzymatic hydrolysis tanks. Through intelligent control, the raw materials are concentrated, separated, and filled, each process showcasing the wisdom of modern biotechnology.
At the Crop Biological Testing Experimental Center, we first learned about the mechanism by which brown algae and kelp organic water-soluble fertilizers help promote crop growth. We simulated crop growth environments in room temperature and low-temperature climate chambers, combined with crop growth experiments
This immersive study experience opened a door to the ocean world for children, who expressed their inner feelings through painting and handicrafts.
Later, we had a taste of the Kunbu Feast in the Ocean Age, a series of dishes including Kunbu glutinous rice lion head, Kunbu dry braised fish, Kunbu mushroom running pheasant, Kunbu Braised pork belly, Kunbu dumplings and so on. By means of "tip of the tongue memory", the children experienced the unique charm of kelp in Chinese food culture.
We will rely on professional science popularization resources and mentor teams to transform profound ocean knowledge into interactive experiences that children can understand and participate in, so that scientific enlightenment is no longer limited to textbooks, and ocean knowledge grows naturally in practice. In the future, Generation Ocean will continue to shoulder corporate social responsibility, providing high-quality platforms for youth ocean education through more professional science popularization content and richer experiential forms, and safeguarding children's ocean dreams with practical actions.
