On April 23rd, Generation Ocean fully utilized its 15000 acre kelp farming resource advantages and carefully planned and carried out the "Exploring the Secrets of Kelp and Sowing Ocean Dreams" themed children's learning activity. This event was organized by the "Hi Rabbit Parent Child Club" with 51 curious "little fishermen" participating. Through rich and diverse practical experiences, they embarked on a unique journey of exploring seaweed .....
At the event, the "little fishermen" first arrived at the kelp breeding dock to immerse themselves in watching the kelp harvesting process. Ships of seaweed were pulled back to the dock after harvesting, and the thick seaweed shone brightly in the sunlight. The lifting machine orderly lifted the seaweed from the ship to the truck, experiencing the joy of seaweed harvesting and the thriving vitality of the seaweed industry firsthand. Subsequently, the children actively observed the differences between seaweed and other seaweed, participated in the practical process of drying seaweed, touched and flipped seaweed with their own hands, and intuitively understood the key steps from harvesting to initial processing of seaweed. Through hands-on practice, they experienced the hardships and joys of labor.
In the Seaweed Science and Technology Museum, children seem to have stepped into a magical ocean world. Through illustrated display boards and interesting science popularization explanations, we gained a deep understanding of the growth habits, nutritional value, and wide application of kelp in the food industry. Subsequently, the "little fishermen" transformed into "food tasters" and eagerly embarked on a journey of tasting seaweed. Fresh cold seaweed dishes, seaweed soup, and seaweed meat wrapped fisherman's rice not only allow "little fishermen" to appreciate the unique charm of seaweed in food culture, but also deepen their understanding and love for the seaweed industry through "tongue tip memory".
In the afternoon, the children visited the modern biological enzymatic hydrolysis workshop and biological testing laboratory of Generation Ocean. Professional technicians use easy to understand language to reveal the technological secrets behind the deep processing of seaweed to children, vividly demonstrating how modern marine technology can transform seaweed resources into high value-added seaweed fertilizer. Teach children how kelp fertilizer provides protection for crop growth through crop bioassay experiments.
This study tour cleverly integrates knowledge learning with practical experience, not only allowing children to have close contact with the kelp industry and stimulating their strong interest in marine science, but also sowing the dream seeds of exploring and protecting the ocean in their hearts, laying a foundation for cultivating future marine talents. Generation Ocean will continue to open up research and learning resources, integrating science popularization, environmental protection, and industry through the "kelp+" model, to help the dream of building a maritime power take root in the hearts of the next generation.
