Teachers and students from Weihai Tashan Middle School visited the Generations Ocean to carry out a


On May 25th, teachers and students from Weihai Tashan Middle School visited Shidai Ocean to conduct a research and study activity on kelp. They explored the 15,000-mu kelp farming base, the brown algae kelp enzymatic hydrolysis production base, the crop bioassay experiment center, and the brown algae kelp science and technology museum of Shidai Ocean. 

At the 15,000-mu kelp farming wharf of Shidai Ocean, the staff introduced the nutritional value and application scenarios of kelp to everyone. Then, they took a boat to the marine ranch to closely observe the colorful floating landscape belt on the sea and experience the scene of workers harvesting kelp.

At the brown seaweed enzymatic hydrolysis production base, the staff provided a detailed introduction to fresh seaweed crushing, low-temperature biological enzymatic hydrolysis, and the biological preparation of brown seaweed oligosaccharides, showcasing the production process of organic water-soluble fertilizers from brown seaweed and kelp. Fresh kelp is crushed and transported through pipelines to low-temperature enzymatic hydrolysis tanks. Through intelligent control, the raw materials are concentrated, sorted, and filled. Each process demonstrates the wisdom of the deep integration of modern biotechnology and traditional kelp processing.

At the Crop Life Testing Experimental Center, teachers and students from Tashan Middle School in Weihai have gained a deep understanding of the mechanism by which organic water-soluble fertilizers from brown seaweed and kelp help promote crop growth. Simulate crop growth environments in room temperature and low-temperature climate chambers, collect soil samples from representative regions across the country, and conduct simulated planting with experimental crops. The leaves of plants treated with organic water-soluble fertilizer from brown seaweed and kelp are shiny and stretched, and the stems are thick and straight, forming a sharp contrast with the control group. Intelligent monitoring devices record crop growth data in real-time, vividly demonstrating the unlimited potential of marine biotechnology to empower modern agriculture.

Entering the Brown Algae Seaweed Technology and Culture Museum, an immersive visiting experience immediately begins. Professional guides rely on illustrated display boards, dynamic images, and scene demonstrations to systematically present the development history of generations of marine enterprises. From tracing the millennium long history and culture of seaweed, to analyzing its rich nutritional and medicinal value, and to its widespread application in food, health products, industry, and other fields, the comprehensive science popularization knowledge is eye opening.

This seaweed themed study activity has allowed the teachers and students of Tashan Middle School in Weihai to deeply appreciate the development strength and technological innovation vitality of Generation Ocean in the entire seaweed industry chain. From on-site observation at the breeding base to process analysis at the production base, from crop exploration at the experimental center to tracing the origin of seaweed at the science and culture museum, Generation Ocean has created a more in-depth and interesting seaweed knowledge popularization platform for young people and all sectors of society through the integration of "marine technology+ecological breeding+cultural science popularization" in the tertiary industry.
