Representatives of teachers and students from Overseas Chinese Primary School in Seoul, South Korea


On July 6th, representatives of teachers and students from the Overseas Chinese Primary School in Seoul, South Korea, went to SHIDAI MARINE to carry out seaweed research activities. They visited the production base of brown seaweed enzyme hydrolysate, crop bioassay experimental center, and brown seaweed technology and culture museum, and tasted the authentic kelp feast.

At the brown seaweed enzymatic hydrolysis production base, staff explained to teachers and students the crushing of fresh seaweed, low-temperature biological enzymatic hydrolysis, and biological preparation of brown seaweed oligosaccharides, demonstrating the production process of organic water-soluble fertilizer from brown seaweed and seaweed. Each process demonstrated the wisdom of the deep integration of modern biotechnology and traditional seaweed processing.

At the Crop Life Testing Experimental Center, staff explained to teachers and students the mechanism by which brown seaweed organic water-soluble fertilizer assists crop growth. By simulating crop growth environments in room temperature and low-temperature climate chambers, soil samples were taken from representative regions across the country, and experimental crops were simulated for planting. Intelligent monitoring equipment monitored crop growth data in real-time, vividly demonstrating the empowerment of marine biotechnology in modern agriculture.

At the Brown Algae and Seaweed Technology and Culture Museum, the staff presented the development history of generations of marine enterprises through illustrated display boards and scene demonstrations. From the millennium historical and cultural origins of kelp to its rich nutritional and medicinal value analysis, knowledge popularization was conducted on the medicinal and edible value of kelp, and the wide application of kelp in food, health products, industry and other fields was explained.

Later, the teachers and students of the Hancheng Overseas Chinese Primary School in South Korea tasted a series of dishes such as the Kunbu Feast, Kunbu glutinous rice lion head, Kunbu dry braised fish, Kunbu mushroom running pheasant, Kunbu Braised pork belly, Kunbu dumplings, etc., which not only let the representatives of teachers and students appreciate the unique charm of kelp in Chinese food culture, but also deepened the cultural exchanges between China and South Korea in the way of "tip of the tongue memory".

This cross-border industrial tourism event with the theme of kelp research has injected new vitality into cultural exchanges between the two countries. Representatives from the Overseas Chinese Primary School in Seoul, South Korea, deeply appreciated the development strength and innovative technology of Generation Ocean in the entire kelp industry chain.
